$2,395.00

For sale is an outstanding piece of art glass made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The item is the highly collected and very desirable "Lily Pads w 2 tier Flower Frog" centerpiece bowl. The bowl is done in Tiffany's highly sought after Gold Favrile style of art glass with an applied decoration. The bowl is a nice table size as it stands 4 1/4" tall and is 10 1/4" in diameter.

This centerpiece bowl has a round shape with a raised cylindrical center piece of glass to receive a 2 tier flower frog with 2 rows of looped rings to hold flower stems. It is further decorated along the inside of the bowl with 5 green Favrile lily pads connected to each other by intertwining vines. The iridescence is just outstanding as you can see the beautiful onion skin texture throughout the bowl. The fuchsia iridescence tones at the base of the raised cylinder makes it look like the bowl is on fire. The underside is smooth and shows nice iridescence as well. The bowl is finished with a rolled thick border top edge for added strength.

This centerpiece bowl is considered to be in excellent to mint condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. This piece shows minimal wear on the underside bottom. I can honestly say I cannot find any excuses for this piece and is probably the finest example I have ever seen of this lily pad bowl made by Tiffany. The bowl is signed on the bottom edge where the center piece rises up with Tiffany's counter clockwise etched signature that reads, "2905 L L.C. Tiffany-Favrile". The flower frog is in the same condition with not even a flea nick to one of the loops. The bottom of the flower frog is signed with these same numbers so you know that this flower frog has always been with this bowl. I can date this bowl based on the suffix letter L after the number signature mark. This bowl was made circa 1917.

I have been a collector and dealer in Tiffany Glass for some 45 years. I can honestly say this is by far the nicest Lily Pad Bowl I have ever seen, never mind owned. I'm quite positive the buyer will be extremely happy with their purchase.
