For sale is a lovely art pottery vase made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The vase is done in one of Roseville's most sought after patterns called "Blackberry". The vase stands 5 1/4" tall and is 4 3/8" in diameter at the bottom.
The vase has a beehive or antique bottle shape with 2 mock handles at the top opening. This pattern displays a band of Blackberries hanging from heavy vines and leaves. I consider the glaze colors top be outstanding. The leaves are medium and light green some changing to brown and rust colors at the top. The opening is very small as it measures only 7/8" in diameter.
This vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There are really no excuses to be made for this vase. Those of you who collect Blackberry know this vase is one of the more desirable to acquire. This is known as shape number 569-5 in the Roseville Blackberry catalog pages. This piece of Roseville was made circa 1932 in the height of the Great Depression. If you looking for a better than average example of this form and glaze, look no further!
