For sale is a beautifully glazed pattern produced by The Roseville Pottery Company of Roseville, Ohio. The pattern is called "Rozane-Pattern" and the shape is a double buttressed handled rose bowl vase. The rose bowl is rather large as it stands 6 1/8" tall and is 10 1/8" in diameter outside handle measurement. The top opening is 4 1/4" in diameter and the foot has a diameter of 2 15/16".
The vase displays a wonderful Mid Century Arts and Crafts shape of a rose bowl with 2 buttress handles. The vase has a beautiful two toned blue mottled and frothy background glaze. The bowl has the lighter blue glaze at the top two thirds with the lower or bottom third displaying a rich deep mottled glaze similar to some Roseville Earlam glazes I have seen.
The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The piece is signed on the bottom with the "Roseville U.S.A." raised relief signature mark, as well as the shape number, 398-6". The signature is very legible.
This is a quality piece of Roseville art pottery. This is one of the nicest examples I have ever owned in this pattern. This is also the best glaze to collect in this pattern and is somewhat elusive to find without damage and in this glaze color. Those of you who collect this pattern and want an excellent example both in form and glaze, look no further. This shape works great with those decorating in Mid Century Modern and it also works in an Arts and Crafts themed home. This rose bowl vase was made circa 1941.
