For sale is a wonderful arts and crafts shaped vase made by The Rookwood Pottery Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. The piece is called a double buttressed handled squat vase. The vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 3 1/4" tall and is 4 1/2" wide outside handle measurements.

The vase has a squat shape with triangular shaped buttress handles on each side It displays a deep country slate blue glaze that is very uniform throughout. The buttress style handles rise up and out a little bit before dropping down to the lower third of the body where it attaches to the body.

The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There is thinning in the glaze along the top lip. This vase shows minimal signs of use. The vase is very clean inside. The vase is signed on the bottom with Rookwood's Impressed reverse "RP" and sunburst logo along with the roman numerals XXVI for the year of manufacture, 1926 and the mold number 354. This is a very nice glaze on a great arts and crafts shape.

Those of you who collect arts and crafts shaped pieces will surely welcome this one into their collection. It would look outstanding on that Stickley arts and crafts style bookcase.
