For sale is a lovely piece of art glass made by Tiffany Studios of New York, New York. The item is a "Short Stemmed Sherbet" and it is done in the very desirable gold Favrile iridescent line of art glass. The sherbet stands 2 3/4" tall and the cup is 3 7/8" in diameter. The bottom foot has a diameter of 2 1/2".

The sherbet displays a short stemmed shape with a wide flaring cup. It has a wonderful and rich gold iridescent body. The gold iridescence is on the inside of the cup and it appears to be on a clear outer base glass. The foot is done the same way with the iridescence being on the bottom and not the top. You can see rich beautiful fuchsia tones when looking directly into the cup. The foot and the top of the sherbet have a wonderful rolled and fire polished edge. This piece of art glass is very delicate and it is amazing that it has survived over 90 years without any damage.

This short stemmed sherbet is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The piece is not signed and more than likely had a paper label at one time. There is also a counter sunk polished pontil. This is the finishing sign of a quality piece of art glass. I have a stemmed cordial on Ebay that matches this iridescence to a tee. The quality doesn't get much better than this. I'm sure the buyer will be delighted with their purchase. This sherbet was made circa 1915-1920.
