LCT,

Sold

For sale is an original piece of art glass made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The item is called a "Cordial" but some collectors this a Toothpick Holder, Thumbprint or Dimpled vase. The piece stands 1 7/8" tall and is 1 3/8" wide. The inside opening is 1 5/16" wide inside measurements.

The cordial has brilliant iridescence with hues of strong hues of platinum blues, and fuchsia. It is similar to Steuben's Gold Aurene in color. The piece is accented with four indented dimples and has a small flared lip. The cordial has a platinum appearance as the iridescence is that wonderful. This cordial could be used as a cabinet vase as well. The correct application is "in a decanter set", as Louis Comfort Tiffany designed these to be used for that purpose.

The piece is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no chips, nicks or cracks. The cordial has a counter sunk polished pontil. The finishing sign of a quality piece of art Glass. The piece is properly signed "L.C.T." along the outer bottom edge. It also has a number lightly scratched above the "T" that reads "6433". This was more than likely an order number. This is an early piece of L.C.T. Tiffany Favrile and was made circa 1902-1910.

Purchase with confidence as this will make a wonderful addition to any art glass collection or serve as the missing cordial in a Decanter set or simply can be used as a beautiful cabinet or toothpick vase.
