For sale is a very nice art pottery vase made by The Van Briggle Pottery Company of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The item is a tall vase and it is done in Van Briggle's popular Ming Turquoise glaze. The vase stands 7 1/2" tall and is 3 1/8" in diameter at the shoulder.

The vase displays a beautiful two tone blue glaze that was known as "Ming Turquoise". It has a wonderful arts and crafts pattern of embossed vertical leaves and floral pattern at the top of the vase. These embossed flowers somewhat resemble a Crocus flower. There are four sets of these surrounding the vase. The outline of the vertical leaves at the bottom are raised in a way that these feet style edges form an irregular shape. The vase is considered to be in excellent as there are no cracks, chips of dings. There is an insignificant shallow surface nick on the bottom side edge. The piece shows signs of use as it is a little dirty inside the vessel. The vase is signed on the bottom with Van Briggle's incised double A logo for Artus and Anna Van Briggle along with the incised lettering "VAN BRIGGLE U.S.A.". This vase can be dated by the "USA" mark as these were made in 1920's. I would say this vase was made circa 1922-1926.

This is a nice early piece of Van Briggle in a very desired glaze. It is known as shape number 822 in the Van Briggle catalog. I'm sure the buyer will be quite pleased with their purchase.
