For sale is a lovely art pottery vase made by The Rookwood Pottery Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. The vessel has an ovoid tapered shape. The vase has some size to it as it stands 8 1/4" tall and is approximately 4" at the widest point. The outer rim of the vase measures 3" and the inner measurement of the hole is 2". The base measures 2 1/8" in diameter.

The vase has a wonderful matte mustard yellow glaze. The vase displays a tapered swollen form with a flared out round top lip. It has vertical broad leaves that come to a point. They start out at the bottom rising all the way to the underside top lip. At the top the leaves become narrow and come to a point. There are 3 of these broad leaves surrounding the vase. At the top between these leaves are a stylized Tulip pattern on a long stem. The stem separates each once of these broad leaves. All of this appears to be hand carved but it is a tall production piece.

The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The vase is signed on the bottom with Rookwood's reverse RP sunburst impressed logo and the Roman numerals "XX" for the year of manufacture, 1920. There is also the number "2387" for the shape number. Those of you who collect matte mustard yellow Rookwood and want a lovely large example in this glaze will be delighted with this vase.
