Gundersen Pairpoint Peachblow Glass Pitcher, Deep Rose To Blue Gray, Rare~~~

For sale is a stunning piece of Peachblow glass made by Gundersen Pairpoint of New Bedford, Massachusetts. It is a pitcher with an applied foot and handle. The pitcher measures 6 1/4" tall at the top of the spout and 4 1/4" from the handle to the tip of the spout. The applied foot measures 2 1/2" in diameter.

The pitcher is done in the ever popular peach blow however this is the one of the most desirable colors that one can obtain. The pitcher graduates from a deep plum colored rim that softly lightens to a beautiful mauve, then lavender and finally a most pleasing pale bluish gray. The foot and the applied handle are also done in the blue gray color. The vessel is done in an acid matte finish and makes this piece appear very delicate. There are also some swirls in the belly of the pitcher where you can see the color batch being mixed.

The pitcher is in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The piece is unsigned however I have learned that this piece was made by Gundersen at a show. He seemed to have extreme knowledge of this type of glass as he stated he was a long time collector of earlier Mt Washington Peachblow. He did not collect Gundersen Pairpoint. The pitcher has a rough pontil and the edge of the foot is polished to insure the piece sits evenly.

This is your chance to own a very rare piece of Peachblow glass. This pitcher was made circa 1950-1952.
