Sold

For Sale I have a Lovely Vase made by The Van Briggle Pottery Company of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Pattern is "Acorn Leaves" and is done in one of Van Briggle's most Popular Glazes. The Glaze is Known as "Mulberry" with a Blue Over spray. The Vase stands 3 3/8" tall and is 6" in diameter.

The Vase depicts 2 Acorns at each end of the vase. The Acorns are surrounded by Oak Leaves that wrap behind each Acorn forming an Irregular Oval Opening. This is a very pleasing Pattern Created by Van Briggle Pottery. It is known as Shape Number 734.

The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The Only issue is some crazing in the Blue Over Spray. This is very common with this Glaze and can only be seen upon very close Inspection. The Vase is signed on the bottom with the incised "Van Briggle Colo. Spgs" and the "Double A" logo mark. There is also 4 Slash Marks written in a Blue Ink on a Sandy Bottom. This is one of the ways to date this Vase as this was known to be the mark from an unknown glazer from 1940-1960's.

Those of you who collect Van Briggle and want a Good example of this form and Glaze look no further. I'm sure the lucky Buyer will enjoy this piece for many years to come.
